We would like to bring to your attention a project which we are developing in our parish together with Catherine (England)Danner, a 2012 graduate of Franciscan University of Steubenville from Cincinnati, Ohio USA. It is our goal to provide a day center for poor children, a house where hungry children will be served lunch and dinner each day after school. We intend to help the poor children from around the town of Turț, including the Roma population.
There will be help offered to complete further their academic studies as well as spiritual education. The center will benefit from the help of volunteers from around the world: students from the Franciscan University of Steubenville, America, Italy, and volunteers from other countries. The whole project will cost 150000 euros. We are currently about ¾ completed with the physical building.
Goal – to offer a home to the abandoned, abused and orphan children and to prevent school abandonment and social exclusion of poor children, Roma, and of those from disorganized or broken families which have a high risk of social isolation through catechesis and educational and social programs.
